Everyone on the planet knows about Social Media. Nearly all of us use it every day. If you are reading this article now then you must be internet savvy and are therefore a prominent user of Social Media. The thing is, used in the right way, social media marketing is the most powerful
form of marketing and market research that the world has ever seen. The problem is that this ever developing beast is actually so large that just creating a Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account and placing up a post will definitely not transform your business overnight. It is, in fact, the start of a lot of hard work, scratched heads and sleepless nights.
How do I harness this power?
Well, this is one of the real tricks. You can easily create some social media profiles and you can place up a post but when you realise you need to place up a lot of posts, regularly and of super high quality, then it starts getting tougher. You need a lot of great content, you need time, resources and you need a plan.
There are free tools out there that will help you manage the sharing of your content across several different social media platforms. However, there is no system yet that automatically works out what you do, who your customers are, where they can be found and then creates the content to reach them at the right time. This you will need to work out yourselves or speak to an online marketing agency such as ourselves to help get you on the right path.
What Social Media Platform is best for my business?
When conducting a free consultation we get asked this a lot. Business to consumer (B2C) social media marketing isn definitely worthwhile on all of the platforms to varying degrees as all of the platforms are composed of people like you and me, people looking for great content, things to share and things to buy.
Business to business (B2B) social media marketing is a touch more difficult and you really need to define your strategy a lot more. Of particular note here is LinkedIn and other business related portals whereby most of the people on it are representing a company.
The largest Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn actually allow you to advertise to people on their platform and these can be highly targeted but, again, you really need to know what you are doing in order to keep your costs down and conversions high.
Will it make my company successful?
Well, yes, but only if you have a water tight strategy and the resources to achieve a long-term erlationship with your customers. It does not happen overnight and there is still work to do. There are also so many other factors involved such as what your competitors are doing, which industry you are in , how competitive the participants are, the clarity of the target audience and potential budget for tools and PPC to back up your hard work.
